Projects

Do you have a transformational project that will create an immediate, positive effect on downtown Jamestown? The Local Planning Committee is seeking projects that are well-developed and ready to break ground within two years or sooner for consideration for funding through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.

Interested Project Sponsors should complete the following application:
Jamestown DRI Project Form (PDF)

Who can submit a project?

DRI funding can be awarded to public, not-for-profit, and private entities to implement a project. Each project must have a single project sponsor that is an incorporated entity (not an individual), that has the capacity and legal authority to undertake the project.

What kinds of projects are eligible for DRI funding?

Eligible and ineligible project types are listed below. To be eligible, projects must also be located within or near the Draft 2026 Jamestown DRI Boundary. The Jamestown DRI Local Planning Committee may choose to make minor adjustments to the boundary to incorporate transformational nearby projects.

Eligible Project Types

  • New development and/or rehabilitation of existing downtown buildings
  • Public improvement projects
  • Small Project Fund (see below)
  • Branding and marketing projects

Ineligible Project Types

  • Stand-alone planning activities
  • Operations and maintenance, including deferred maintenance
  • Pre-award costs or expenditures before the grant is awarded
  • Property acquisition costs
  • Training and other programmatic expenses

Small Project Fund

The Local Planning Committee is also looking for interest in a Small Project Fund that may be created for projects that are less transformational on their own but collectively have a significant impact on the downtown area. Eligible projects include façade and other exterior improvements, interior renovations, capital equipment, and public art. In order for a Small Project Fund to be created, business and property owners within the Draft 2026 Jamestown DRI Boundary must submit a Jamestown DRI Small Project Interest Form (PDF) outlining their project idea. A separate application process will be developed if the Small Project Fund is created.
